Update on Projects
Update on Projects:
I have not posted anything in the last week or so because I have been trying to complete my Travel Journal. I am also thinking of making some detailed tutorial videos on DVD that would be actual workshops. Since my background is teaching I thought I would try my hand at making DVDs that maybe I could sell on line for specific projects. I would really like to do some weekday workshops out of my own home for small groups of interested individuals. I put out a feeler on Facebook but have only had one person show any interest so not really sure how to get the word out there. I am open to suggestions.Wednesday, 17 July 2013
What a Birthday Weekend!
What a Birthday Weekend!
This past weekend was my birthday and my husband got us tickets to the musical "Tommy" in Stratford Ontario (which was excellent by the way). We stayed at Conestoga College in Kitchener (great accommodation for a very reasonable price- highly recommend it). Over the weekend, I visited five different Scrapbook Supply Stores (from Cambridge to Elmira) and spent way too much money on scrapbook and art supplies (like about $650.00 worth!). We had dinner at several really interesting places and the weather was perfect for patio dining. It has been a while since I have shopped until I dropped for supplies. All I can say is I wish I lived in the Kitchener/Waterloo area of Ontario just for the number of scrapbook stores. My area (Oshawa) really only has Michaels so you know how limiting that can be. So if you are ever in the Kitchener area I suggest you check out the following stores: The Scrapping Bug and Two Friends Scrapbooking (Kitchener), The Scrapping Turtle (St. Jacobs) and The Art House (Cambridge).Book Sculpture
Book Sculpture - "Hardly"
I recently discovered a You Tube Video by Johwey Redington showing how to fold pages in an old hard covered book to create a very interesting work of Art. So I tried my hand at it and the result is shown below. You can go to my You Tube Channel (http://youtu.be/doLlD9dMhWY ) and see this in more detail as well. I think it turned out pretty good for my first try and I will be attempting others once I stock up on some old books from my local Value Village.

Vertical Paper Bag Album
This album uses lunch bags for the pages. Lots of these designs can be found on Youtube but many don't use the bags in a vertical set up.
Fashionista Album
A gift album for a friend who is into fashion in a big way. Check out the Youtube Video at: http://youtu.be/GI-3GSWlFJ8
