Well I finally got another couple of quilts done. I quilted both of these on a long arm machine using pantographs. There are errors but I am not going to tell you where they are!

Sunday 25 August 2019

Here is the pieces baking for the vintage quilt.

Finished this quilt top for a friend who asked me to make a throw for his couch. He requested vintage colours. This was a kit I bought a year ago and it features Tim Holtz fabrics.

Monday 29 July 2019

Just finished my Star Burst quilt which is going into my guild's quilt show this fall. This is an Angela Walters pattern and using mainly 5" Charm pack squares.

Friday 19 July 2019

Finished my Pineapple Quilt today. I long armed the quilting.

Friday 12 July 2019

Shhhhh….don't tell anyone. This is just between you and me. Here is a quick look at my show quilt. I just finished it. I will be entering it into my guild's quilt show in November. I had to create my own design, use a feature fabric picked out by the show planners and it could not be any bigger than 55X65 inches in size.

Sunday 7 July 2019

Was cleaning up my scraps and sorting and decided to use my scraps to create a free style abstract like wall hanging. As I got going I would just starting adding things until I got something that appealed to me. I did some appliqué which I created myself from a picture in google images ( the sunflower ) and I had the embroidered butterfly in my stash that I had machine embroidered some time ago. I really liked working on this and it was a create way to get rid of some scraps and to practice simple appliqué. I will definitely do more of this kind of thing in the future.

Thursday 4 July 2019

Made the decision and created two placemats using the embroidery machine appliques.

Used my embroidery machine today to create these four squares. The embroidery machine did the applique stitching. Now I have to decide what these will become- a table runner, wall hanging or two placemats?

Sunday 30 June 2019

Finished my Dynamic Duo quilt and absolutely love it. I am putting this in my guild's quilt show in November. Here are some pictures.

Thursday 27 June 2019

Finished the Butterfly Table Runner and added a mitred border and some walking foot quilting.

I didn't like the fabric I used for the Triangle Frenzy Table Runner I posted yesterday so I redid it in another fabric which I think is better. Not yet layered and quilted- will do that later today.

Wednesday 26 June 2019

Experimented yesterday with a pattern called Triangle Frenzy Square to create this placemat. I am not happy with the fabric I chose for this but the technique is kind of unique- you use a 60 degree triangle ruler to cut your pieces. I am going to try this again with some left over fabric that I have already sewn into a strip.

Sunday 23 June 2019

Just finished putting the borders on my Bursting Star quilt. They are mitred as well- I think it gives a more finished look to a quilt as opposed to just square borders. Now it is ready for quilting!

Thought I would start populate my blog with some pictures  of past projects. (Also I am testing an app on my iPhone)

Thought I would share my latest project- The Bursting Star Quilt. This was a free pattern by Angela Walters. I have not yet added borders but I am about too. Also, I plan on quilting this on a Long Arm machine (just took a beginners course on how to use one of these devices). I will show you the finished product soon.

HI! I have not used this Blog since about 2015 but I am reactivating it now because I have been disabled (by a hacker) from Face Book. This has happened to me several times in the last two weeks so I have now decided that I will no longer be using Facebook.

Instead, I will use this forum for sharing pictures of my projects and to update my followers on YouTube.

Not sure if I am going to be able to maintain this Blog but time will tell.

In the meantime- what have I been creating? Well, I just tried my hand at applique for the first time and here is a picture of the result. This was a kit (one of three) that I picked up when we were last in Australia. Eventually, I will incorporate these kits into a quilt that features fabric I purchased in Australia.

Here is the piece:

I hope you will check out my Blog on a regular basis and share your thoughts with me about my projects or any other topics you may wish to talk about.

Stay tuned for more!
